Pressvia
A Reader-First Publishing Redesign

We partnered with Pressvia to rethink the publishing experience removing noise, clarifying hierarchy, and creating a calm canvas for long-form reading.

Most modern news sites suffer from cluttered interfaces and intrusive ad placements. Pressvia wanted a publishing platform that feels calm, modern and focused on reading not distractions. Merge Studio delivered a compact, readable system that supports both readers and content creators.

Problem

Press and media sites are often overloaded: too many competing visual signals, unclear hierarchy, and intrusive ads that disrupt reading flow. The brief was to craft a distraction-free reading experience that improves engagement and content discoverability.

Process

We ran focused competitor research and quick UX iterations in Figma. The studio landed on a neutral palette and strict typographic scale to reduce eye strain. Layout decisions prioritized clear content hierarchy, predictable navigation, and designated, non-intrusive ad slots.

Outcomes

  • Stronger reading engagement and longer session durations
  • Improved content discoverability through clearer hierarchy
  • Reduced content drop-off by removing visual noise
  • Purposeful ad placements that respect reading flow
